Explore the great outdoors on a one-hour hike from the Dolder Grand to Loorenchopf, a serene retreat in the forest above Zurich. The trail leads through lush wooded areas all year round, offering a relaxing escape in the heart of nature.

Upon reaching Loorenchopf, climb the 152 steps to the 33-metre-high observation tower; on clear days, the panoramic view is simply spectacular. You can admire the Zurich Oberland, the Glatt Valley and, if the weather is kind, even the Bernese Alps with the iconic peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

The Loorenchopf tower was built in 1954, inspired by the efforts of the Zurich Beautification Association, founded in 1861. Their mission to enhance Zurich’s landscape, create recreational areas and connect residents and visitors to nature is more relevant than ever today.

Upon request, we can arrange a Champagne picnic for you to enjoy on the platform. Alternatively, we can provide a guide to accompany you on your hike; as well as telling you about the area as they lead you along the trail, they will take care of all the details during your outing so you can relax and enjoy yourself.

Let us plan your excursion and make this unique experience out in nature a highlight of your stay!
